II. Position Summary:
The Sales Trainer coaches, trains, and develops sales navigators for Hospice and Home Health business lines to attain expert skills and competencies as well as improve individual navigator performance and productivity. Utilizes standardized sales processes, expert skills curriculum and technical applications in order to maximize sales performance and retention. Collaborates with the Regional Director of Sales to identify performance gaps, market analysis and growth opportunities, navigator professional development needs and sales training curriculum. Assist and support in the hiring and development of the new sales navigators. Supports and reinforces service line-specific on-boarding processes, service line training and implementation of sales-related initiatives. Works to ensure all sales navigators have thorough knowledge of each enterprise service lines, can effectively use expertise to overcome rejections, capture the referral, and use consultative-like selling techniques.
III. Qualifications:
Proven work experience as a Sales training specialist or Sales training coordinator
  • Extensive knowledge of learning principles and modern training techniques
  • An ability to manage the full training cycle
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Understanding of referral throughput with commitment to positive customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and team management skills
  • Additional certification in training is a plus
  • One year sales experience in a related field
  • Ability to build rapport with trainees
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude
IV. Job Relations:
Reports To: Vice President, Administration
V. Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares and trains new sales representatives by conducting orientation Covenant Care Sales philosophy, processes and practices; develops individual coaching plans; provides resources and assistance; schedules orientation ride-alongs; observes and assesses navigator encounters; analyzes sales outcomes; provides monthly progress/assessment analysis.
  • Schedules individual and team training plans on a regular basis; provides training interventions as needed.
  • Develops training manual to include maintaining policy and procedure resources; Creates Sales Training plan for each calendar year; provides coaching; conducts quarterly Sales training sessions; facilitates monthly education in-services; develops outcome improvement resources.
  • Oversees training material and provides process improvement recommendations
  • Designs Sales orientation sessions for new hires and advises on 1st 30-days schedule.
  • Evaluate sales team adherence to best practices and prescribed professional development/process improvement.
  • Reports on training program effectiveness.
  • Creates an open-communication climate and solicits team members’ preferences for potential training topics.
  • Generates referrals based on established monthly targets.
  • Increases professional and industry acumen by participating in educational opportunities, industry-related publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Conducts service line sales training and maintains an updated training database to include navigator attendance and curriculum database.
VI. Special Demands/Physical Requirements:
This position may sometimes require medium/heavy lifting. The position is also mentally demanding because of the continual need for assessing and evaluating clinical aspects of patient care. This position requires considerable time traveling in a motor vehicle in connection with performing essential functions of the position.
